The Danger Dogs are now installed at The Loft at Liz's Gallery, where they will be up through December 2012.
49 pieces by 28 different artists from Nepal show the diversity of the Nepal Art Dog project.
Come by for the opening reception on Saturday, September 17, from 7 to 9 pm. The Loft at Liz's is located at 435 S. La Brea, just 1 and a half blocks north of Wilshire.
Rescue Dog by Saachin 12"x12" synthetic enamel on metal 2008 Available
Some of my favorite pieces from the early years of the Danger Dog Art project will be included.
"The Loft at Liz's exhibit is entitled "Fair Trade" and is dedicated to featuring works that speak to this increasingly relevant and transformative topic. The featured artists will be creating original works in statement of fair trade practices and other will actually incoporate the use of fair trade products as their creative medium."
That last bit would be me!
Lulu the pitbull by Vinosh 13"x13" synthetic enamel on metal 2008 Available
This portrait of Lulu is painted by Vinosh, an artist that has since moved to Saudi Arabia to make his living. I can only hope that he continues to paint as he has an original and charming style.
Queenie the Black Cat by Shantos 12"x12" synthetic enamel on metal 2008 Available
This one I commissioned on spec, since Queenie was such a beautiful cat and her owner bought all three portraits of her pet. I'm glad I did, as Shantos is another artist that has disappeared.
White Horse by Sanjib Rana 15"x12" synthetic enamel on metal 2007 Available
Sanjib Rana did a series of horses from his own photos. He has a feel for animals and nature that come out in his art.
Enlightened Parrot by Sagar 12"x12" synthetic enamel on metal 2008 Available
Bird lovers will not be left out in this exhibit as I also include peacocks and these parrots painted by Sagar. I've also included a Danger Goat !
There will also be a Fair Trade Marketplace at The Loft at Liz's in conjunction with the Miracle Mile Art Walk.
This market will be open to the public between:
Tuesday, 10/20 from 5-9pm
Wednesday 10/21 from 10am-6pm
Thursday 10/22 from 10am-10pm
Come on by and do your part. There will be great gifts for the holidays that will mean more through being Fair Trade.

Your pet can be immortalized on metal by struggling Nepali signboard artists whose hand-painted work is being replaced by digital graphics. Find out how below.

You will be happy you did!
Now is the time to order: Be ahead of the Pack! Orders accepted through November 26, 2011.
HOW TO ORDER
To order, please send me a photo of your pet. I will give it to three different artists, giving you a choice of 3 paintings and three people will get work. Each painting is about one square foot and is on metal with synthetic enamel paint. These can be hung indoors or out, be framed or unframed.
Satisfaction is guaranteed as I accept no money up front. If you do not like one of the three, you pay nothing, and the 3 artists are paid in full in any case. Let me know what you want it to say and that's it!
Send your photo to ampage1@gmail.com or find out more at www.NepalDog.com.
Let's keep these artists painting.
