Live from Kathmandu: More works on line
November 29, 2013
Everyone is busy putting the final touches on their Danger Dogs.
Izzy is on the right path, as Megh Raj has almost finished his portraits. Just the writing is missing on this one.
Taco looks as chic as ever in his Harley Davidson jacket. Again, not quite complete.
Tiny is here as a very early work in progress by Sagar Bitsa. He is still adding layers to the ones you have seen from him earlier.
Cupcake is pretty in pink and gold in this early start to her portrait by Sagar.
Sagar has said that there is much detail work still to be done on Tia the Norwich Terrier. I should be seeing finals in a couple of days.
Finally today we have Stella a little further along.
The goats here are helping to clean up the poster blight that is Kathmandu! The political posters are to be taken down as a matter of law, but many remain. Perhaps this might be a solution. This goat happens to be eating a religious poster that has been promoting Christianity all over town.
Orders are now closed for this trip.
Let's keep these artists painting.
This hand-painted art form is fast disappearing in Kathmandu, as it already has in most parts of the world. I pay fair trade wages, the artists get to paint again, pet lovers get a choice of three paintings for each commission, and I get to help Nepali artists make a living. Everybody is happy. Rescue dogs from America get to rescue artists from Nepal!
